High Interest DayAll students participate in hands-on opportunities to try something new and exciting. Students choose which activities they attend. Sessions include a variety of topics including food, sports, building, arts and other unique topics.
Hour of CodeThis national event is held in December and allows students the opportunity to explore computer science.
Math OlympiadMath Olympiad is a national problem solving contest for students designed to stimulate enthusiasm for Mathematics. Students will be challenged by mathematical concepts, strategic thinking, and problem solving.
Section ExtravaganzaHeld in May, students participate in age appropriate games in pursuit of winning the “Stinky Shoe” traveling trophy.
Principal's 6th Grade Softball League A long standing tradition at Section, all 6th grade students have the opportunity to participate in the principal’s softball league during the months of May and June. The league is organized and managed by the 6th grade students, highlighted by a game versus the teachers on the last day of school.
Project FairSponsored by Section’s PTG, students create projects on a topic of their choice to display at an evening event.
Red Ribbon WeekHeld in October, Red Ribbon week celebrates the commitment to drug awareness. This week is highlighted by activities to promote being drug free.
Santa's CornerStudents are able to purchase gifts for their loved ones during the holiday season. This PTG sponsored event allows students to surprise their families with a special gift.
Section SixtyThis school wide fundraiser is completed early in the school year. Students get pledges from friends and family to participate in 1 hour of physical activity to raise money which supports the Section PTG events and activities during the year.
Student CouncilStudent Council is a group of elected student representatives from 4th, 5th and 6th grades. These students meet twice monthly during lunch to work on service projects and plan and run fundraisers. In addition, school spirit days are planned by the student council.
